Growth and Development
Independence and the struggle between parents and their children is what adolescence is most known for. However, this can also be a time filled with laughter, joy and great pride watching your child develop into an independent young adult with their own ideas, opinions and aspirations. While their world revolves around their social circle, it’s important to help your teenager stay connected with the family unit. Encourage them to participate in household chores and queue them on their progress at school. Talk to your teenager about drugs, alcohol and tobacco and their health repercussions as well as sexual intercourse, STDs and how to protect themselves.
